What kind
of activities can I do?
Fantastic things!
Victor Hugo discribed
Bacharach in the 19. century as one of the most beautiful towns
of the world.
Because of the well situated location
at the Rhine River, Bacharach was the most important trade and trans-shipment
centre for wine and wood at the Middlerhine.
The town still enchanted with a
lot of half timbered houses, especially the Old
Posthof with his magnificent inner courtyard and the Old
House built in 1568.
The city walls of Bacharach (built
in the 14. century) and Oberwesel are the most preserved walls at
the Middlerhine.
